La Ruta del Vino se ha convertido
en uno de los recorridos más tradicionales de
San Juan. Diez bodegas integran el paseo y ofrecen características
y propuestas muy diferentes para el turista: desde vinos
orgánicos hasta espumantes elaborados en el corazón
mismo de la montaña.
El Parque Provincial de Ischigualasto, ubicado a 330
kilómetros en dirección noreste de la
capital de San Juan, en el departamento Valle Fértil,
es uno de los lugares más interesantes de la
provincia. Es uno de los yacimientos paleontológicos
más importantes del mundo, declarado Patrimonio
Natural de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en el 2000. Más
conocido como "Valle de la Luna", por las
exóticas figuras que la erosión del viento
modeló, es poseedor de una enorme riqueza científica.
En el norte, Jáchal e Iglesia constituyen un
circuito digno de recorrer, con lugares de gran belleza
natural y con la posibilidad de conocer parte de la
cultura y la historia de la región. En Jáchal
es imperdible la visita a los cinco molinos harineros,
construcciones del siglo XIX que marcaron el período
más floreciente de la economía productiva
de la región y preservan el estilo arquitectónico
de aquella época. O la Iglesia, con su Cristo
Crucificado traído de Potosí a fines del
siglo XVIII, que es de tamaño natural, de color
negro y de cuero. En Iglesia hay varios sitios para
recorrer: las Termas de Pismanta, con su hotel y las
vertientes naturales ubicadas a 2.010 msnm, con aguas
volcánicas y livianas que tienen propiedades
curativas. La Capilla de Achango, construida por los
jesuitas en el siglo XIII y siguiendo hacia Rodeo, el
Dique Cuesta del Viento cautiva no sólo por el
color del agua, que contrasta con las tonalidades sepia
de la montaña, sino también porque su
característico viento lo transforma en un atractivo
internacional para disfrutar de deportes náuticos.
En Iglesia además se puede matizar la estadía
con trekking, cabalgatas, excursiones en vehículos
4x4, pesca y visitas a sitios que guardan vestigios
indígenas, entre otras actividades.

Planned as a tourist circuit,
the San Juan Wine Route has become one of the most traditional
courses of San Juan. Ten wineries integrate the excursion
and offer very different features and suggestions. From
organic wines to sparkling wine elaborated in the same
heart of the mountain, the visitor has a good deal to
see and taste. But undoubtedly, Ischigualasto Provincial
Park, located 330 kilometres Northeast of the capital
of San Juan -Department Valle Fertil -is one of most
interesting places for the tourists. It is considered
one of the most important palaeontologic sites of the
world, and was declared Natural Patrimony of Humanity
by the UNESCO in the year 2000, better known by the
name "Valley of the Moon", because of the
exotic figures the wind erosion modelled. It is regarded
as an enormous scientific treasure.
In the North of the province, the departments of Jachal
and Iglesia present a circuit worthy to visit because
their places of natural beauty which provide the chance
of knowing part the culture and the history of the region.
In Jáchal the visit to the five flour mills is
extraordinary; six years ago was declared National Historical
Monument. They are constructions of XIX century, landmarks
of the most flourishing period of the productive economy
of the region, representatives of the architectonic
style from that time. Also the Jáchal Church,
with its Christ brought from Potosí by the end
of the XVIII century (also called "the Gentleman
of the Agony"), life-size, black color and made
in leather. In Iglesias there are several locations
to visit: Termas de Pismanta (thermal spa), hotel and
natural slopes located at 6,594 feet asl. The volcanic
and light waters have healing properties. The Chapel
of Achango, constructed by the Jesuits in the XIIIth
Century, is a stunning construction revealing the style
of those times. Continuing towards Rodeo, Cuesta del
Viento is not only attractive for the waters shade contrasting
with the sepia tonalities of the mountain, but also
because the distinctive wind transforms it into an attractive
international spot to enjoy nautical sports. Other activities
can also be experience in Iglesias, like trekking, horseback
ridding, excursions in 4 by 4 vehicles, fishing, and
visits to sites showing indigenous evidence, among others
interesting outdoor recreations.
