San Carlos se destaca por la actividad agroindustrial en manzanas de calidad, de aromáticas para exportación y la obtención de excelentes uvas. Tupungato es básicamente agrícola, el cultivo principal es la vid pero la mayor superficie de explotación corresponde a la frutícula, se destacan la explotación de nogales y se distingue al departamento como "la capital de la nuez". Sin embargo la producción más destacada local, luego de la vid, es el durazno, con casi el 50% de la superficie dedicada a la fruticultura. Sigue en importancia manzanos y perales sobre todo en Tunuyán (el mayor productor de la provincia) y en menor escala, ciruelos, membrillos y damascos. / San Carlos stands out for the agro-industrial activity, the production of high quality apples, aromatic herbs (mostly oregano for export) and grapes. Tupungato is basically

agricultural. The main production is the grapevine but the greater surface of operations corresponds to fruits. Among them stand out the walnuts, reason why this department is known as "the capital of the walnut". It represents more than 35% of the production surface of the province. Nevertheless the most outstanding crops, after grapevine are: peaches, with almost 50% of the surface dedicated to that fruit tree. Following in scale are apples and pears mostly from Tunuyán (Valle de Uco is the greater producer of the province) and in smaller scale are plums, quinces and damsons.

San Carlos invita con sus paisajes deslumbrantes, pero el mayor atractivo natural es la Laguna del Diamante. En Tunuyán se puede realizar turismo aventura en el Cajón de Arenales, Cerro El Manzano, el Chorro de la Vieja y Portillo Argentino. En Tupungato los ejes turísticos que más valor ofrecen son el "Parque Provincial Tupungato" y el "Campo de Tiro Gualtallary”. / San Carlos invites with its overwhelming landscapes, but the greater natural attractive is the Diamante lagoon. In Tunuyán adventure tourism can be practiced in the Cajón de Arenales, Cerro El Manzano, el Chorro de la Vieja and in Portillo Argentino. In Tupungato the tourist axes of more value are the "Provincial Park Tupungato" and the "Gualtallary Shooting field".
