Simultaneously, exports to the United States and Paraguay
began, and were followed by others to American and European
countries.
In 1993 Goyenechea was one of the founders of the Council
of Controlled Denomination of Origin San Rafael, and
was the first South American winery to export a D.O.C.
“appellation contrôlee” wine, the
1993 Chardonnay. A year later the relationship with
Aberdeen-Angus breeders association ceased and the company
started to sell exclusively its own brand Goyenechea
in the domestic and international markets.
In 1998 the fifth generation of the family entered the
company. It became an incorporated company. Today Goyenechea
is one of the oldest established, independent, family-owned
wineries in Argentina. |
