El Grupo Freixenet lleva más
de una década instalado en Argentina, lo que le
ha permitido tener un conocimiento profundo no sólo
del mercado de vino argentino sino del potencial de la
vitivinicultura de Mendoza. Por esta razón, en
el 2003, en Tupungato (Alto Valle de Uco), decidió
implantar el primer viñedo de 371 hectáreas,
a 1.300 metros sobre el nivel del mar, en la falda de
la cordillera de los Andes. Ese mismo año, Freixenet
lanzó su primer vino argentino con la marca “Viento
Sur”.
La afortunada combinación de viejas vides, suelo
y clima, crean varietales excepcionales que, junto a la
dedicada vinificación, permite realzar el carácter
complejo y exquisito de la fruta. La empresa desea preservar
todas las características de la uva y de la tierra
en donde crecen los viñedos y, por esta razón,
el vino se trata y se embotella joven. |
.El “Viento del Sur”
es un viento especial, con carácter fuerte e intenso,
que se forma cerca del fin del mundo, de buen augurio
y aires de bonanza, marca el inicio de la primavera y
el buen tiempo.
The Freixenet Group has been
in Argentina for more than a decade, and there fore it
has a really deep knowledge not only of the Argentine
wine market but also of Mendoza´s wine making potential.
For this reason, the Freixenet´s first 317 hectares
of vines were planted in Argentina in 2003 in Tupungato
(Alto Valle de Uco), situated at 4,265 feet asl at the
foot of the los Andes. That year, Freixenet launched its
first Argentine wine named “Viento Sur”.
The privileged combination of old vines, soil and climate
provides the grape with enough elements to make these
exceptional varietals. |
These
complex and exquisite features of the fruit are further
enhanced in the winemaking process. The company wants
to preserve all characteristics and the nuances of the
grapes and the land where the vineyards are grown. For
this reason this young wine is barely treated and is bottled
for the enjoyment of all wine lovers.
“Viento Sur” (Southern wind) is a special
wind, with strong and intense character, which is formed
near to the end of the world. A wind that comes from the
South is always a sign of good luck. It brings prosperity
and indicates the beginning of the Spring and the good
weather. |
