Our story started in 1873, in the area of Barrancas, Maipú, province of Mendoza, where our first vineyards were planted. Towards the begining of 1910, the Flichman family re-inaugurated the property with the name of Finca Flichman. It was Sami Flichman, a visionary pioneer, who developed the first vineyards in a depression formed by the Mendoza River in ancient times. In 1998 Finca Flichman was acquired by Sogrape, a Portuguese viticultural group renowned as a
leader and a strong player in the international market. The original winery, surrounded by its vineyards, was preserved, restored and enlarged by their proprietors, and it was endowed with the finest and most advanced technology. Flichman has 950 hectares, and its grapes are harvested from the 310 hectares of vineyards with noble varietals. The vineyards extend over two Mendoza regions: Barrancas, situated at 2,297 feet, and the privileged Tupungato which is situated at an altitude of 3,642 feet above sea level. The expansion of its vineyards, the incorporation of latest-generation equipment and technology, and constant personnel training have enabled Finca Flichman to make wines of high quality and personality, which are quite differentiated and which clearly mark a step in the evolution of fine wines from the New World.
