| Animaná está
situada en el Noroeste Argentino, al sudoeste de la
provincia de Salta, en pleno Valle Calchaquí,
a 1.695 metros sobre el nivel del mar. El casco de la
finca, fue construido entre los años 1795 y 1806
y hoy conserva el más puro estilo colonial. El
vocablo Animaná proviene de los antiguos habitantes
de esta zona y significa “lugar del cielo”,
describiendo así un paradisíaco entorno
rodeado de majestuosos cerros y regado por aguas de
deshielo donde la vid, traída a comienzos del
siglo XVII por los jesuitas, se hizo dueña del
lugar, creciendo bondadosa y fuerte, entregando sin
reparos su tan preciado fruto.
En sus comienzos la explotación de los campos
era agrícola-ganadera. Sin embargo, la actividad
vitivinícola fue creciendo y entre los años
1.900 y 1.920, cuando se introdujeron las variedades
Torrontés, Malbec y Cabernet Sauvignon, y evolucionó
hasta convertirse en la actividad principal de Finca
Animaná. En 1970 nuevos dueños la equiparon
con la más moderna tecnología, logrando
ser

mundialmente reconocida
por la calidad de sus productos. En la bodega se estacionan
exquisitos vinos de uvas seleccionadas, producto de
240 hectáreas de viñedos propios, algunos
de 50 años de antigüedad. El carácter
especial de una tierra casi desértica, con escasas
precipitaciones, rica en minerales, regada por agua
de altas cumbres produce un fruto sano y óptimo.
La generosidad del Sol, la altitud, el esfuerzo y la
dedicación humana, otorgan un vino con cuerpo,
aroma y un sabor muy particular.
Animaná is located in
the North-Western region of Argentina and in the South-Western
part of the province of Salta, in the heart of the Calchaquíes
Valleys at 5,561 feet above see level. The farm house
was built between 1797 and 1806 and it still keeps its
very colonial style. The word “Animaná”
comes from the language of the ancients inhabitants of
this place, meaning “Lugar del cielo” (Heaven´s
place). It describes a paradisiacal environment, surrounded
by magnificent hills, watered by streams coming down from
the ice |
on the
mountain tops, where the vines brought by Jesuits priests
in the early XVII century, became owners of the land growing
good and strong to yield their precious fruits.
At the beginning the work of the farm was devoted to growing
vineyards as well as to raising cattle, however, the cultivation
of vines started to improve steadily, and between 1900
and 1920 varieties such as Torrontes, Malbec and Cabernet
Sauvignon were introduced. This activity was so good that
it became the main activity of the farm Animaná.
In the year 1970 new owners took care of the farm buying
modern technology to improve the production. Today it
is recognized worldwide by the excellent quality of its
products. The special character of an almost desert soil,
rich in minerals, with scarce rainfalls, watered by the
water coming from the mountains, produce the best fruit
to keep the quality of the fine wines of Animaná.
The generosity of the Sun, the proper altitude, the effort
of man devotion to his work, results in an aromatic, full-bodied
wine with a very special flavor. |
