Fundada en 1909 por Humberto Canale,
está situada en las cercanías de la ciudad
de General Roca, en el corazón del Alto Valle
de Río Negro, en la Patagonia. Luego de cuatro
generaciones, en la actualidad es dirigida por Guillermo
Barzi Canale. Hoy la bodega combina la sabiduría
artesanal del fundador con las técnicas más
modernas para producir vinos finos de calidad internacional.
En estas latitudes las uvas maduran unos veinte días
más tarde que en la región cuyana, lo
que ocurre al inicio del otoño, en donde los
días son templados cálidos y las noches
bien frías, lográndose una madurez lenta,
que logra un excelente equilibrio entre azúcares
y acidez natural, siendo los vinos de gran intensidad,
con colores sorprendentes y gran temperamento. “En
Río Negro se puede hacer vinos tan famosos como
los franceses. Sus

cepajes son excelentes, vigorosos
y con distintas características de los del resto
del país. Me asombraron entre otros el Pinot Noir
y el Cabernet. Esta región tiene una personalidad
enológica definida y se puede realizar una vitivinicultura
de gran valía”, según palabras de
Raúl de la Mota.

city, in the heart of the Alto Valle de Rio Negro, Patagonia.
After four generations, the founder’s wisdom regarding
handmade processes is combined with the most updated techniques
to produce fine wines of international quality. At present
the winery is managed by Engineer Guillermo Barzi Canale.
The grapes generally ripen twenty days later

in the Cuyo region. This happens at the beginning
of autumn, when the days are warm and the nights are cold,
a slow maturation occurs and the grapes reach an excellent
balance between sugar and natural acidity. The combination
of these factors produces wines of great intensity of
color and character.
“In Rio Negro, wines as famous as the French ones
may be produced. The grapes of that Argentine region are
excellent, vigorous and with peculiar features that are
different from those of the rest of the country. Among
others, I was amazed with the pinot noir and the Cabernet
varieties. This region has a specific enological personality
and a highly valuable viticulture may be developed in
it”, says enologists’ master, Mr. Raul de
la Mota. |
