La centenaria bodega está ubicada en el corazón de Maipú, una de las zonas vitivinícolas más tradicionales de la Argentina. Su fundador, José López Rivas, llegó de España en 1886 y en 1898 se arraigó en Mendoza, donde comenzó la elaboración de sus propios vinos. Compró un terreno en General Gutiérrez, Maipú, donde construyó la actual bodega. Su actividad turística es muy intensa y recibe permanentemente visitantes, tanto nacionales como extranjeros. El paseo de los turistas incluye la visita a la elaboración, el añejamiento y el embotellado de vinos. Así también se incluyen en el recorrido la champañera y las fincas. Se pueden realizar degustaciones verticales de un mismo vino de distintas cosechas, para evaluar la evolución del color, los aromas, el paladar, el bouquet, el cuerpo y demás características desarrolladas por los vinos a través de los años. Cabe mencionar la degustación dirigida sobre el vino Montchenot Tinto 20 años cosecha 1985, 15 años cosecha 1989 y 10 años cosecha 1996. La bodega está abierta para la realización de almuerzos y cenas privadas como así también a cursos de degustación.

This century-old winery is located in the heart of Maipú, one of the most traditional viticulture zones in Argentina. Its founder, José López Rivas, arrived from Spain in 1886 and in 1898, he settled in Mendoza, where he started the elaboration of his own wines. He bought land in General Gutierrez, Maipú, where he built the present winery. As regards tourism, the activity is very intense and the winery hosts local visitors as well as from other countries. The tour includes a visit to the wine elaboration, storage and aging , and bottling. The estates and sparkling wine plant are also part of the visit. There are tasting sessions of the same wine from different vintages in order to evaluate the evolution of color, aromas, palate, bouquet, body and other characteristics developed in the wine through the years. The tasting sessions conducted for the red wine Montchenot 20 years - harvest 1985, 15 years - harvest 1989 and 10 years - harvest 1996 is worth mentioning. The winery is open for private lunches and dinners as well as for wine tasting courses.
