La bodega se fundó en 1930. En 1998 fue comprada por la familia Altieri que la recicló íntegramente. Está ubicada en Perdriel, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, al pie de la cordillera de los Andes y a 1.060 msnm. Esta región ha sido denominada Zona Alta del río Mendoza y posee características únicas en el mundo para la producción de vinos de alta calidad. La bodega está dedicada exclusivamente a la elaboración de vinos Premium, criados en roble, en partidas especiales, de botellas especialmente estacionadas en cavas subterráneas. Todos sus vinos son 100% naturales y según sus propietarios “reciben los cuidados que se entrega a una obra de arte”. Para lograr estos vinos la empresa posee 6 hectáreas de viñedos propios ubicados en Perdriel y compra uvas de unas 15 hectáreas a otros productores. Está focalizada en la variedad de uva Malbec. Se elabora sólo una línea Premium, con una sola etiqueta, donde se distingue el año de elaboración del vino. Desde sus inicios puso foco en la exportación y hoy sus vinos de partidas limitadas se envían a Estados Unidos y Europa. Desde el comienzo la bodega Vinorum ha ganado varias distinciones. Entre ellas dos medallas de plata en el concurso “Tasters Guild International Wine Competition” realizado en Estados Unidos, en la categoría de vinos entre 11 y 15 dólares, donde participaron más de 500 vinos

de 16 países, con los vinos Malbec Premium 1999 y Malbec Premium 2001. El Malbec Premium 2000 obtuvo la Medalla de Oro en el Concurso “Finger Lakes International Wine Competition” realizado en la ciudad de Nueva York, Estados Unidos. Además de la medalla de oro también se obtuvo una Medalla de Plata con el vino Malbec Premium 2001. El Malbec Premium 1999 obtuvo la Medalla de Plata en las Vinalies de París. Este concurso, que coincide casi siempre con el inicio de la vendimia de Mendoza, consagra a los 1.000 mejores vinos del mundo que salen publicados en un libro muy especial.
Mendoza, at the foothill of the Andes mountain range, 3,478 feet above seal level. This region is known as Zona Alta del Río Mendoza (High Lands of Mendoza River) and it has unique characteristics in the world for the production of high quality wines. The winery only produces premium wines in special lots; they are aged in oak and later in the bottles in underground cellars. All the wines produced by Vinorum are 100% natural and the owners of the winery express that “the wines are treated as pieces of art work”. production of approximately 15 hectares bought from other producers. Vinorum only focuses in the elaboration of the Malbec variety. Only one Premium line is produced, and it has a label that indicates the year of elaboration. From its beginnings, the company has been interested in the international markets, and nowadays its wines are sold in Europe and the United States.
Vinorum has received several awards, among them two silver medals for the Malbec Premium 1999 and the Malbec Premium 2001 at the “Tasters Guild International Wine Competition” in the United States, in the category of wines between 11 and 15 dollars, in which more than 500 wines from 16 countries participated. The Malbec Premium 2000 was awarded the Golden Medal in the “Finger Lakes International Wine Competition” held in New York, and the Malbec Premium 2001 received a Silver Medal in the same competition. The Malbec Premium 1999 was worthy of the Silver Medal at the Vinalies in Paris. At this contest, which usually takes place at the same time as the beginning of the harvest in Mendoza, the world best 1,000 wines are selected, and they are published in a special book.
