Bodega del Desierto nace en el año 2000 de la mano del Grupo Albanesi, empresa comercializadora de gas natural y energía eléctrica. La bodega y el viñedo se encuentran ubicados en 25 de Mayo, Puelén, La Pampa, en el extremo oeste de la ruta del desierto, Patagonia Argentina.
Las 140 hectáreas del viñedo comprenden Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Malbec, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc y Viognier. Este es regado en su totalidad con riego por goteo, abastecido por una represa de 35 millones de litros que se llena por gravedad y actúa como decantador y reservorio. El clima es árido continental y templado a templado frío, con una amplitud térmica de 26° C y con precipitaciones anuales de 220 mm. El viñedo se encuentra a 340 metros sobre el nivel del mar.
El asesoramiento integral del proyecto está a

cargo del enólogo americano Paul Hobbs. 25/5 es la primera de las tres líneas que comercializa la bodega y debe su nombre a la localidad donde está ubicada. En 2006 se lanzará el 25/5 con su línea de varietales. Bodega del Desierto es la primera bodega de la provincia de La Pampa, nueva zona vitivinícola.

Bodega del Desierto was created in the year 2000 by the Albanesi Group, a company dedicated to the distribution of natural gas and electricity. The winery and vineyards are located in the town of 25 de Mayo, Puelén, La Pampa, on the western border of the desert route to Patagonia, Argentina.
The 140 hectares of vineyard are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Malbec, Chardonnay,

 Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier. The vines are irrigated by a dripping system which is fed from a 35-million-liter reservoir in the estate.
The climate is dry, continental with moderate to cool temperatures, a thermal amplitude of 26° C and annual precipitations of 220 mm. The vineyard is located at 340 meters above sea level.
The American winemaker Paul Hobbs is in charge of all consulting activities. 25/5, named after the town where the winery is located, is the first of three lines of wine which the winery will commercialize. In 2006, the varietal line of 25/5 will be launched. Bodega del Desierto is the first winery in the province of La Pampa, a new viticulture area.
